Location

The Shippon is close to the pretty village of Ashprington and 2 miles from the historic riverside town of Totnes in South Devon. It is conveniently situated whether you are looking for beaches (Bantham 15 miles, Paignton 8 miles) or moorland (Dartmoor 12 miles). Totnes is a small and interesting town full of charming and unusual small shops. There is an extensive craft and cultural centre at Dartington Hall, just a short distance away. We are surrounded by farms and generally the farmers operate on organic or natural principles. One of our neighbours makes an excellent blue sheeps cheese (Beenleigh Blue). Most of the farmers welcome visitors provided the normal country codes are adhered to, such a closing gates and keeping to footpaths.
